These are some of the bigger projects I have been involved in over the last years. I can't keep track of the small ones :). See also my perl modules on CPAN and my software page.
2003 ERCO VIS-Module together with trinid GmbH, Aksel Karcher
MS Visual C++, MMX Assembler, wxWindows, LON-Bus, GNU gettextMultilingual software demonstrating ERCO Light Control Hardware. Reacts to commands issued through the hardware (LON bus) and simulates light scenes on-screen by combining pre-rendered images. The blending was realized in MMX Assembler to allow for smooth animations. For the GUI, I used wxWindows. 2002 -
2003The Sword Project together with CrossWire Bible Society

2001Search engine for ERCO together with trinid GmbH
Perl 5, Apache, pdflibA search engine covering multiple webservers of ERCO. I used the free software Perlfect Search and rewrote parts of it to meet the needs of ERCO. The search engine now includes links in the Java navigation (specified in an XML-ish format), indexes PDF files and handles catalogue management and searches in multiple languages. 1999 -
2000User management and login procedures for ERCO professional together with trinid GmbH
perl 5, HTML, Apache, MySQL, mod_auth_mysqlERCO professional is an international platform for users of ERCO products. My job as part of the trinid team was to design and implement procedures to manage user access to ERCO professional for tens of thousands of users. The content for ERCO professional is jointly developed by trinid and ERCO. 1994 -

1998/
2001Staff database
MS-Access 2, DDE, MS-Access 2000, COMDeveloped during my military duty for a reserve bataillon. This project emphasized an easy-to-understand user interface and tight integration into MS-Excel and MS-Word to ease day-to-day work.
A lot of code was needed written to realize DDE interfaces and UI elements like tabbed forms not available in Access 2.
I ported the database to MS-Access 2000 and COM in 2001.1997 -
1998Computer training
During my military duty I was part of a team planning and executing computer training lessons focussing on basic computer and office skills.
