28/06/2001: Departure to Singapore
After many preparations and the last stressful hours before the flight, my trip finally can start! I'm not yet fully conscious of what awaits me...
Some ACO members as well as my parents and Ina are saying good-bye at the airport. After last hugs before the gate and critical examination of my luggage (especially of the four-track recorder) behind the gate, I board the first plane to Zürich.
Contrary to all information given by SwissAir, it is possible to take an electric bass aboard. Or maybe that's just because the lady at the check-in counter was in a happy mood? After the shockingly trouble-free check-in, it was no problem to store the instrument aboard the plane. Even in the fully occupied plane from Zürich to Singapore I found enough space in the overhead bins.
With good food and enough drowsiness for the night, the flight passed (almost) like a breeze. I hope that my return will be as smooth as that...
