Singapore views: GIM Guitars
The bass repair adventure
In January 2002, I needed to get my bass repaired due to an unusable truss rod. This involved changing the truss rod and putting on a new fretboard. I decided to have the repair done at GIM Guitars in Kuala Lumpur, since I knew of no instrument builder in Singapore. I went there together with Eugene. Now, my bass is the only Tobias Growler with a fretboard made of Ebony from Sabah...
The pictures show most of the repair process. The repair itself was done in two and a half days (with most work done after one day). Many thanks to John of GIM Guitars for his good work and to Gabriel for letting us sleep at his place on very short notice. It was nice to meet fellow ChurchBass subscribers Gabriel Thomas and Victor Andrews in KL and to try out their gear :)
