Low Down in Stuttgart

(a.k.a. Boozapalooza 2000)

While on his tour through Europe, Damien Knuckey from Melbourne stayed a few days at my flat in Stuttgart. At the same time, John Joseph from Atlanta spent two weeks of Navy Reserve duty in Patch Barracks, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, so this was a great chance to arrange a spontaneous ChurchBass meeting.

I was really glad to meet those two chaps - they're both very nice and it was a pleasure to share those few days with them.

Schedule

14/06 Damien arrives in Stuttgart in the afternoon and we meet John for the first time at the concert of the Allmand Chaoten Orchester at a local student festival. After the concert, we keep sitting together until about 4 am in the morning.
15/06 At night, we all head to Zap, a club in downtown Stuttgart. Bassist Alvin Mills is doing a great job! The rest of the band ain't bad either. Of course, we don't get to bed earlier than last night. *yawn* ;-) After Damien and me go home, John is lucky enough to catch Alvin for a nice talk.
16/06

John buys presents for his family at the Harley Davidson shop; Christian is going to the University for a change and Damien does a free bus tour through Stuttgart (rather involuntarily...) in the Mercedes factory bus after visiting the Mercedes Benz Museum.

In the evening, we meet at the Copthorne hotel to listen to some nice live jazz and have a last evening together.

17/06 Damien heads to London while John flies back to Atlanta.

Pictures

These are a few pictures I took with a digital camera. John and Damien have taken some pictures, too. I'll link them as soon as they are available.
